This is a tour of the oddly shaped rocks and scenic beauty of the Minokoshi coast. In particular, in memory of the virtues of Kobo Daishi Kukai, who is said to have given the name Minokoshi to this place, the tour will be guided by a Shikoku 88 Sacred Places Association-certified tour guide.

Trial cooking of stray-grilled bonito

We use fresh bonito caught in Tosashimizu. You can have your fill of delicious straw-grilled bonito. After the activity, you can eat it on the spot, and any uneaten soda-bushi can be packaged for gift-giving. The tour includes an “Uomeshi” set meal and arajiru (fishhead soup), as well as a bonito cleaning and straw-grilling activity.

Thanks to the bounty of the Kuroshio Current, Tosashimizu City boasts Japan’s largest production of soda-bushi (bonito flakes made from dried bullet mackerel). You can visit the site of soda-bushi production, where the aroma of dried bullet mackerel is wafting through the air, and learn the secrets of making the most of the bounties of the sea and mountains. In addition, this is a great way to experience the taste of dashi broth and make your own bottle of umami soy sauce to take as a souvenir! Please be sure to visit the soda-bushi barn when you come to Tosashimizu.

Spectacular! Cape Ashizuri Exploration Cruise

The view of Cape Ashizuri from the boat is spectacular!
You can see magnificent natural features, such as the surrounding islands and caves, from a different angle than when viewed from land.
This is a 50-minute ride along the dynamic and graceful coastline. You will be able to fully experience the magnificence of Ashizuri in a way you cannot on a land route.
If you are lucky, you may even encounter a pod of dolphins. Sunset cruises are also recommended!
