バラ科　　学名：Rhaphiolepis indica var. umbellata

車輪梅。トベラやハマヒサカキなどと共に海岸風衝低木林をつくる常緑低木です。葉は厚く丸みをおびます。5月頃ウメに似た形の白い花を咲かせ、枝葉が密生して輪状にでることからこの名があります。果実は球形で黒く熟します。

Along with trees such as Pittosporum tobira and Eurya emarginata, this evergreen makes up this wind-shaped coastal forest. Its leaves are thick and round. In May, a white flower similar to the plum blossom blooms. Its branches and leaves grow thickly and take on a circular shape. Its fruit is round and ripens to a black color.
