クスノキ科　　学名：Actinodaphne acuminata

海岸から低山の常緑広葉樹の林内に生育する常緑高木。頂芽は細長く葉は枝先に集まります。葉も細長く垂れ下がって裏面は白色を帯びます。硬質の葉が触れ合う時の音から名付けられたという説があります。

The leaves are also long and narrow, white in color, and droop down. The firm leaves are known for making sound when they come in contact with each other.
