“Tosa no Shimizu Saba” is a brand of mackerel that Tosashimizu is proud of.

It is a fresh, fatty “blue mackerel” brought to the Shimizu Branch of the Kochi Prefecture Fisheries Cooperative Association. When eaten as sashimi, you can enjoy its crunchy and springy texture.

In this tour, you will be taking a stroll through the fish market and fishing village in downtown Tosashimizu. It is a 120-minute city walk tour that explores the secrets of the deliciousness of Shimizu mackerel and the history of the fishing village.

After your stroll, have a fresh sashimi lunch, like Shimizu mackerel, and personally experience its delicious taste.

You'll be able to fully enjoy the fishing village accompanied by a local guide, taking a tour of the fish market, which you don't usually get into, and talking with the staff of the fisheries cooperative, fishermen passing through town, and the owner of the fishing tackle store!

We will serve Shimizu Saba Sashimi Lunch upon request. (1,300 yen extra)

Itinerary

  1. Meeting in front of the Shimizu Branch Office of Kochiken Fishery Cooperative

    *Parking spaces are located on the outskirts of the harbor, passing through the fishery cooperative. See the walking route below.

  2. Observing the live fish tanks and market at Tosashimizu Fisheries Cooperative

  3. Talking with fishermen, baiting, and observing the making of kebari flies

  4. Walking through fishing village

  5. Around 11:30: lunch at Rikyuya, dismissal after lunch.

  6. We will serve Shimizu Saba Sashimi Lunch upon request. (1,300 yen extra)

Tour Price

3,500 yen per person: This is the price for one person. For multiple participants, it will be 3,000 yen per person.

*Please pay for the lunch (1,300 yen) at the restaurant on your own.

Included in the cost are the tour guide and insurance fees.

By 5PM of the day before the tour(please contact us if you are applying on the day of).

You can book online up to 3 days before the tour date by noon the day before. After that, please call us to make a reservation by noon the before.

Cancellation Policy

There is no charge until noon two days before, a 25% charge until noon the day before, a 50% charge until the start of the tour, and a 100% charge without notice.
